Cotorras Privacy Policy
How the Cotorras community app collects, uses and protects your data under the GDPR and Spanish LOPDGDD.
Last updated: 25 August 2026
1. Who we are
Corvus Reach, a Spanish autónomo based on the Costa Blanca, Alicante. Cotorras is a product of Corvus Reach.
Contact: contact@corvusreach.com · data protection & legal requests: legal@corvusreach.com.
2. What we collect
When you use the Cotorras app, we collect and process the following personal data:
- Account data — your name and email address, managed through our identity service (Nido). Cotorras does not store your password.
- Resident profile — display name, property or unit reference, phone number (optional), residency type, and profile photo (optional). You choose what is visible to other residents through privacy settings.
- Community content — posts on the wall (Muro), calendar entries, incident reports (Incidencias), recommendations (Recomendaciones), poll votes (Votaciones), and messages within incident threads (Charlas). This may include text and photos you upload.
- Push notification subscriptions — a technical token stored on our server so we can deliver notifications to your device. No third-party push service has access to your content.
- Session data — an encrypted session cookie that keeps you logged in. No tracking cookies are used in the app.
3. Why we use it
We process your data to provide and operate the Cotorras community app for your urbanización. Specifically:
- To authenticate you and grant access to your community.
- To display your posts, reports and recommendations to other residents in your community.
- To send you push notifications about activity in your community (when you opt in).
- To allow the board (junta) to manage community settings, moderate content and respond to incident reports.
Legal basis: performance of contract (providing the service your community subscribes to) and legitimate interest (community moderation and security). We never sell your data.
4. Who can see your data
- Your community — other residents in your urbanización see the content you post and the profile details you choose to share. Contact details (phone, residency type) are private by default.
- The board (junta) — board members can see your contact details for community management purposes, regardless of your privacy settings.
- The property manager (administrador de fincas) — if your community has an administrador linked, they can access community documents and settings.
- Corvus Reach — we access data only for technical support and service operation.
Your data is never shared with other communities, advertisers or third parties outside those listed above.
5. Where your data is stored
All data is stored on servers in the European Union (Amsterdam, Netherlands). Profile photos are stored as resized images directly in our database — we do not use external file storage services.
6. How long we keep it
Your data is kept for as long as your community’s subscription is active and your account exists. When you delete your account (Profile > Delete Account), your resident record and associated content are removed. Community-level data (posts, calendar entries) may be retained in anonymised form.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and Spanish LOPDGDD, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and data (available in the app under Profile > Delete Account).
- Port your data to another service.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time (in the app under Profile > Notifications).
To exercise any right, email legal@corvusreach.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD).
8. Cookies
The Cotorras app uses a single encrypted session cookie to keep you logged in. No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies are used within the app.
9. Children
Cotorras is not directed at children under 16. Access requires an invitation from a community’s board, and accounts are created for adult residents.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. The date at the top of this page indicates the last revision.
